Opacity & Pigment Load: These are opaque gouache paints. Holbein has designed the Irodori colours to have good hiding power (i.e. can cover underlying layers well) without relying on whitening agents.
Finely Ground Pigments: The pigment grind is fine, giving smooth application, less grainy or chalky texture.
Lightfastness: Colours are selected for “excellent light-fast ratings” so that they resist fading over time.
Colour Behaviour: They mix well without darkening or becoming muddy; stable in layering.
Finish: Matte finish, typical of gouache. When dry, surface is delicate; rubbing / scratching can harm it. Using a very thin fixative or varnish can help in preserving the top surface, though may slightly affect appearance.
